Ronstan Bay Challenge - 2001

First of all let me congratulate Mike on his victory. Now I know that there is room up there for all of us. You just have to pay your dues.
It was definitely not the windiest Bay crossing I've ever raced. Most people were on 9's more or less. Others who rigging small, expecting high winds further down the course, were caught in the worse predicament for such a race. Zero, zilch, zippo, somewhere below Harding and Alcatraz. A 1 minute slog for some, but a 10 minute delay for others. I bet ML wishes he took the 40in. out, not to mention what is going through Rob's head.
My token big sail, the 9.0, was not quite enough for the downwinder but it was plenty coming back up along the city front. It's a tough decision to make on such a long race but I think I made the right one. Couldn't do anything about the big hole. Thanks to the SFYC and Ronstan for a fun race.
